Isn't China still communist? Ford's chinese partner enters Racing??

China is still a Communist country isn't it? I mean it's hard to tell anymore, what with their relationship with WalMart and the Mercedes dealers.
Do you think that Baldy here is spinning in his grave? I mean do you think he ever imagined this...
China has jumped into the 21st Century with both feet I guess. Big flashy auto shows, going from bicycles to automobiles in no time at all. All the foreign investment and partnerships.
I've mentioned before, that even Communist China has the new focus.
But I never knew or imagined that they have a professional racing series.
Or an FIA race track.
I mean, they are still Communist, right?

My confusion aside, click the link to read the article about Ford's Communist Chinese partner, entering into the Chinese Championship Racing Series in the 2.0 Liter class.

Absolutely unbelievable. How long ago was Tiananmen Square????

Economically it has opened up a lot...it had to. The Chinese learned from the USSR...but socially, it is still very much a brutal communist government.

I think Ford & other American companies are making a HUGE mistake transferring technology into China.

When there is money to be made, our country doesn't seem to care about human rights. Unfortunately, our administration is unwilling to take on Japan head on, and American companies have no choice but to build cars there with cheap labor.

Shawn, I'm fully aware of the situation in China, I was actually being sarcastic. I was a History/Marketing major in college, and do read the papers.

I just find it funny that a country that is COMMUNIST has a pro racing series.

Dotty, you can see how you've yet again inspired a post on the site, thanks for the heads up on the site. And nobody's going to give you grief about the Goat, hell 400 hp is 400 hp.
