Here's an Idea that's not new

Have Mercury be the exclusive importer for Ford Products from overseas markets.
Remember Merkur? Ford brought their Ford Siera and Granada from Europe as the Merkur XR4Ti and the Scorpio. Also the Mercury Cougar from a few years ago, was a 2 door coupe built on the Mondeo/Contour/Mystique platform and the Capri was a roadster from Ford of Australia built on the Ford Laser/Mazda 323 platform.

Give Mercury a new lease on life, and I don't mean another rebadged Mustang called Capri. Let Mercury import and distribute some of the models Ford sells globally, like the Ford Fusion of Europe, the Ka/Steet Ka, Maybe the Batam/Courier mini ute and finally bring back the Mondeo.
The only car I think that should not be a Mercury is the Ford Falcon and Falcon Ute, they should replace the Crown Victoria and bring back the Ranchero name.

Ford think globaly and bring us the cars the rest of the world loves. It would be a boost to Mercury.
