Wagons are NEVER "cool", they are always purpose built for mom, the kids and groceries. PERIOD! The only possible exception was the 1955-57 Chevy Nomad two door, but then again, not really a station wagon as it was meant to be a sedan delivery.

I beg to differ, but wagons can be cool, when I was younger, my older brother had a Pinto wagon,that he installed a stereo and tinted the windows on. He used to tear ass all over town in that thing, 4 cylinder and automatic, but he still made that car cool.

If Wagons aren't cool, then how do you explain all the websites and clubs devoted to them. What may not be cool to you, can definitely be cool to others.

And again for the record, the Nobad was not meant to be aa sedan delivery, it was a wagon with two doors as oposed to 4. All of the big three had station wagon based sedan deliveries, the Nomad was a fluke, that caught on. I love Nomads, and think they are cool, but Ford sold a 2 door wagon at the same time. The Nomad became the icon it is after the Souther Califonian Hot Rod community started to fix them up. They were never really a commercial sucess for GM. Did you ever see the Pontiac version, called the Safari?

Hi, great website. I will agree that one man's trash is another's treasure. Wagon's definitely have their own followers and more power to them. I was probably too harsh. I definitely got caught up in all of the other interesting info on your site. As for the Nomad, you are mistaken. It was built as a sedan delivery, it goes back in concept to the thirties. I personally still think it is the only wagon I would spend my money on. For example, Dodge had the Magnum, I would buy the 300c or wait for the Charger before I laid down my hard earned money for a wagon intended to give people with families an alternative to a minivan or SUV. Again, however, to each his own. Keep up the great work. Ford's rule!
